What to Expect for Your First Appointment

We are happy to welcome you as part of our dental family. Our primary goal, whenever possible, is the retention of your healthy, natural teeth. We aim to understand your concerns, expectations and goals of treatment. When you call our office, our receptionists will gather detailed information and schedule your new patient exam at a time that is convenient for you. When you arrive for your appointment, our friendly office staff will greet you by name and make sure you are comfortable.

During this first dental appointment, a thorough examination will be completed, including necessary x-rays, oral cancer and periodontal screenings, followed by an intraoral camera exam so that you can see what the dentist sees inside your mouth. We will then be able to sit down, discuss the findings and recommendations with you and provide answers to all your questions. The result is a comprehensive treatment plan designed to help you achieve healthy teeth and a beautiful smile.

During your treatment, information and advice will be provided which will help you maintain good oral health to last a lifetime. Dental education is a priority in this dental office, so that you, the patient can make educated and informed decisions.

Payment and Scheduling Policies

We would like to take a minute to review with you our payment and scheduling policies.

Appointments and financial matters will be handled by our very capable receptionists and treatment coordinator. All appointments will be estimated for you, giving you an idea of what the fee for the appointment will be. The fees for dental treatment are recommended by the Ontario Dental Association fee guide and all patients are on an equal pay schedule for receiving the equal quality of care.

Our office accepts all major insurance plans and will bill your insurance company directly. We also accept payment via Visa, Master Card, Interac and cash.

Our automated email and text messaging confirmation system will contact you with notices regarding your upcoming appointments. It is, however, your responsibility to ensure you keep all scheduled appointments. As appointment times are reserved for your benefit, we require 2 business days’ notice for cancellation of appointments.

We thank you for choosing the team here at Dr. Van Rassel Family Dentistry. Your oral health is our main goal and we will make every attempt to help make your experiences as pleasant as possible. Should you have any questions please call us.
